GE Energy to Provide Software Services to San Diego Data Processing Corporation ATLANTA, GA. (October 7, 2004) GE Energy has signed a five-year contract with San Diego Data Processing Corporation (DPC) to provide software services for the City of San Diego Water Department and the Metro Wastewater Department. As part of the contract, GE Energy will provide software upgrades of its Smallworld Core Spatial Technology product to support San Diego Water's and Metro Wastewater's System Planning and Locator Application for Sewer and Hydrographics (SPLASH) application. The contract also includes onsite and remote, day-to-day, IT operations and support staff. "Through our agreement with GE Energy, we will receive technical support from a large pool of highly-trained staff and have access to skilled backup for our SPLASH application support team during planned and unplanned events," said Susan Wynne, facility information management section manager, San Diego Water Department. GE Energy will keep the SPLASH application current with the latest functionality available to users. It will also help provide efficient planning of water/wastewater projects as well as support the location of existing underground facilities used by the "Call Before You Dig" Program. "This contract strengthens our relationship with the City of San Diego to one beyond a supplier, in which we share accountability for success and are motivated to steadily make technological improvements that enhance execution and meet their business objectives," said Ricardo Artigas, president of energy services for GE Energy.
