Cover Plate Heat Exchangers

Cover plate heat exchangers are generally used for dirty fluids with low design pressures, such as for machinery oil cooling and heavy hydrocarbons. A flanged removable cover allows complete access to the inside of the header for cleaning, but this flanged connection drastically limits the design pressure and is not recommended for critical service application.

Performance

This configuration is ideal with dirty and low-pressure applications:

  • Design temperature up to 662 °F (350 °C)
  • Design pressure up to 35 bar (507 psi)

Downstream: machinery oil cooling and heavy hydrocarbon
