Membrane Technologies

Our customers imagined membranes and filtration fabrics that breathe easier. We make it happen with patented unique Direct Venting™ technology that allows millions of tiny pores to breathe at their full potential. The result is high performance for all your filtration and venting applications.

GE microfiltration and venting membranes protect sensitive equipment and packaging from contaminants
Microfiltration and Venting

Aspire™ microfiltration media and venting solutions by GE help protect sensitive equipment and packaging from contaminants while allowing the free flow of gases/vapors and equalizing system pressure.

GE HEPA media achieve high air filtration efficiency and low pressure drop
Air Filtration Media

Preveil™ microfiltration media by GE provides the ideal balance of high filtration efficiency and low pressure drop for a diverse range of HEPA and standard vacuum cleaner and HVAC applications.

GE One-Pass membrane filters for brine polishing systems eliminate costly filter aids
Liquid/Solid Filtration

One-Pass™ membrane filters help reduce system cost for brine polishing systems by eliminating costly filter aids, as well as expensive, high-maintenance clarifiers, sand filters and precoat filters.

GE membrane products and laminated systems are used in protective gear for military, fire/safety, and industry
Waterproof/Breathable Membranes

eVent™ technical fabrics incorporate waterproof breathable membranes that use Direct Venting™ technology and keep users dry on the inside. GE’s bicomponent technology provides just the right balance of liquid penetration resistance and heat stress reduction, and meets the demanding requirements for military, professional work wear, fire and safety, and industrial work wear.

Take a closer look
At the heart of all our products you’ll find expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE), which has a three-dimensional web-like structure with billions of microscopic pores. Air and liquids pass easily through ePTFE membranes while they collect particulates as small as 0.1 micron. The inherent hydrophobic (water-resistant) and non-stick nature of PTFE aids removal of particulates captured on the membrane surface.

The GE advantage
Unlike conventional ePTFE membranes, patented Direct Venting technology allows millions of tiny pores to breathe at their full potential. It’s unique, and it’s only available from GE.
