Case Expansion/Valve Position, Optical and Speed Transducers

Position Transducers

No One Protects Large Turbines like GE

The transducers in this category measure changes in machine case positions as they expand or contract, rotary or linear position of control valves, or wicket gate position on hydroelectric turbines. They are typically used in conjunction with other transducers as part of a Turbine Supervisory Instrumentation (TSI) package, designed to monitor all critical machinery parameters on large steam, gas, or hydraulic turbines used in power generation applications.

Rotary Position Sensors
3300 XL Rotary Position Transducer (RPT)
This innovative transducer incorporates a proximity probe observing an eccentric cam. The changing gap between probe tip and cam corresponds to degrees of rotation, and is specifically designed for valve position measurements. It is a superior alternative to older potentiometer transducers which have poor reliability.
LVDT
Valve Position Transducer (LVDT)
Some valve position measurements incorporate a linear, rather than rotary, mechanical linkage. Our AC LVDT is designed for such applications and is available in ranges from 1.0 to 28.0 inches (25 to 703 mm).
DC LVDTs
Case Expansion Transducer System and High Temperature Case Expansion Transducer System
These transducers are DC LVDTs intended specifically for case expansion measurements, which generally require a shorter linear range than valve position measurements. They are available with ranges from 1.0 to 4.0 inches (25 to 101 mm).
