31000 and 32000 Proximity Probe Housings
These rugged housings use a variable length stem, inserted through the machine's casing, to provide externally adjustable access to the proximity probe and its associated extension cable. It allows the probe to be replaced and/or gapped without disassembly of the machine, and provides a convenient location to coil excess extension cable. They also allow easy attachment of various conduit sizes and styles. The housings are fully compliant with API 670 requirements for externally mounted proximity probes.
These all-metal housings are available in aluminum (21000) and stainless-steel (24701), and are used when an explosion-proof housing is required. For most other applications requiring an external proximity probe housing, we recommend our 31000/32000 housings which offer more flexible mounting options, better environmental resistance, and other improved features over the older 21000/24701 design.
This housing provides protection for two externally mounted axial (thrust) probes and allows external adjustment and replacement of the probes without machine disassembly.
When proximity probes are installed in high-pressure environments (up to 400 psi), our special feedthroughs can be used. They allow from one to three probe extension cables to be routed from a high-pressure region (often, inside the machine) to a low-pressure region (often, outside the machine), while providing a positive seal. The feedthroughs can be used with 3300 XL 8 mm, 3300 XL 11 mm, and 3300 5 mm probe systems.
This product provides galvanic isolation between the monitoring system and a variety of proximity probe and acceleration transducer systems. It represents an alternative for those who require intrinsically safe installations, but do not wish to use zener barrier technology.
