OverviewThe EX2100 excitation control system was introduced in 2000 for gas, steam, and hydro applications. This proven product is applied on the complete range of generators from small industrial units to large nuclear units, in both voltage regulator and full static excitation systems. The system offers a wide range of hardware and software options, allowing it to be tailored to most retrofit requirements. Coupled with GE's engineering, installation, training, and worldwide service capabilities, the EX2100 offers outstanding performance and value on any generator.Retrofit ApplicationsExciters
Control Redundancy LevelsThe EX2100 features a flexible architecture that allows for simplex or redundant controls coupled with simplex or redundant power bridges and with optional redundant cooling fans in most applications. Redundant systems feature software voting for maximum fault tolerance, precision diagnostics to minimize mean-time-to-repair, and on-line repair to maximize system availability. The ability to tailor the redundancy levels helps ensure the right level of protection for the system and aids in meeting today's budget realities. Flexible NetworksInstallation and commissioning costs are reduced by extensive use of Ethernet connectivity at all levels, including remote I/O, operator interfaces, engineering workstations (optional system HMI), and peer-to-peer communications between units and plant network interfaces. Powerful SoftwareToolbox maintenance and configuration software is a comprehensive configuration management system, maintenance, and analysis package capable of board level diagnostics on both GE excitation and turbine controls products. Application software is represented in function diagrams and transfer functions with dynamic data that can be dragged and dropped into trends, or into advance oscillography, all in standard engineering units. |
