Troubleshooting GateCycle Version 5.3 SQL Errors

This Topic Applies to:
GateCycle Software:Versions 5.3
Operating Systems:All Operating Systems
Module:Optimization
Keywords:GateCycle software 5.3, Optimization, ODBC, SQL
Symptoms

The optimization feature in GateCycle version 5.3 uses ODBC to read and write to a SQL database that stores optimization related data. ODBC requires driver files and data sources that are configured using the ODBC Data Sources applet on the Microsoft® Windows® control panel.

The GateCycle software setup program configures ODBC properly. However, some programs, like Microsoft Outlook® 97 and 98, overwrite the drivers that GateCycle software needs if they are installed after GateCycle software is installed. Problems with the required driver files or data source cause GateCycle software to report SQL errors when you use the optimization feature.

Cause

SQL errors reported in GateCycle software 5.3 can be caused by:
1. An improper system data source configuration
2. Installation of the wrong Microsoft Access ODBC driver
