The Version 5.34 patch for GateCycle software 5.3x is known to have the following issues:

1. The version 5.34 patch does not apply properly on systems on which a compact installation was performed. The patch application process displays an "Old File not found" message and terminates. To work around this issue, reinstall GateCycle software and perform a typical install.

2. Tight (less than the default of 0.0001) property tolerances can cause equipment warnings not seen when models were run in previous versions. This situation is most likely to occur in models that use GTCOMP or GTTURB icons. As a workaround, perform one of the following actions:

  • A.

Choose the "JANAF Table Data Curve Gas Property" method.
B.Raise the system property tolerance slightly.
    C.

Ignore the warnings. Your results with the warnings will not be materially different.

3. Linking the duty of an aux boiler or flash tank to cases (other than the current case) in the same model causes the following input error:

  • *** ERROR - no model ID given for duty link.

Linking to cases in other models now works. To work around this issue, save the desired model and case as a new model and case and then link to it. This problem will be addressed in version 5.40.

4. The input field for the "Duty Energy Method" in the Flash tank does not have a Unit Of Measure label. This problem will be addressed in version 5.40.

5. Reference models and cases for models that use the Duty (Heat Transfer) Link feature in the Duct, Aux Boiler and Flash Tank icons are not backed up or restored when the "Include Dependent Cases and Tables" option on the Backup / Restore dialog box is checked. To work around this issue, back up the reference models manually. This problem will be addressed in version 5.40.

6. The "Link Heat Transfer" method in the "Duct" icon does not work properly in version 5.34. Do not use it. This problem will be addressed in version 5.40.

7. New models that were built in version 5.30 and that use the vertical "Heat Recovery Steam Generator" (HRSG) icon set or the vertical evaporator icon display trigger an illegal operation when opened in version 5.34. Please send models with this problem to ge-enter.support@ps.ge.com and we will attempt to repair the model for you. To send a model from inside GateCycle software, you can select the command "Mail Tech Support" under the Help menu or "Send Model" under the File menu.
