GE offers specialized drilling services to help you achieve success in the most demanding situations such as:

  • Blowout relief wells
  • Subsurface re-entry below an abandoned bottom hole assembly
  • Drill a re-entry into a problem well to allow proper plugging and abandonment
  • Track a problem well to a selected depth while maintaining a safe stand off

  

Our team provides real-time down hole data and on-site analysis that can save days and even weeks of drilling time. The data is generated using our Magnetic Gradient Ranging (MAGRANGE III) technology.

MAGRANGE uses two proven methods for determining the distance and direction to the target well. At ranges on the order of 200 ft, Down hole Current Injection (DCI) is utilized. DCI works by inducing alternating current into the target well creating a low frequency magnetic field that is detectable by highly sensitive sensors in the tool. At close ranges, MAGRANGE utilizes a passive magnetic system that detects disturbances in the earth's magnetic field caused by the steel casing or drill pipe in the target well.
