Volatile & Semi-Volatile Organics

Accurate Emissions Measurements

GE performs a full range of emission test procedures to measure volatile and semi-volatile organic emissions and control efficiencies, including dioxins, furans, PAH and PCBs. On-site emission measurements are performed using flame ionization, photoionization or non-dispersive infrared detector-based analyzers. These emission measurements use our custom gas handling and conditioning systems. We also perform on-site gas chromatography for certain applications. In some instances, test methods require sampling using trap- or canister-type collection techniques with subsequent laboratory analyses, including mass spectrometry.

In addition, we are pioneering work in capture efficiency test method development, and have helped establish alternative methods for VOC control efficiency evaluations. We routinely perform standard USEPA methods 18, 21, 25, 25A, 25B and 25C, and new sampling methodologies including the 204 series capture efficiency test methods.
