VetcoGray RL-4
The RL-4 is a self-locking threaded connector featuring four threads start, 1/4 turn fast make-up. Dual o-rings prevent sea water ingress to the thread for increasing the fatigue life of the connector. Since the 1980's, the RL-4 has been very effective as the large-diameter connector and is recommended for use with long conductor strings or in areas with high currents.
Accessory equipment used in driven RL-4 conductor strings include a drive sub, a remote release extension tool, and a torque tool releasable RL-4 for direct torque release at the mudline.
