Electric Submersible Pumping Systems
Electric Submersible Pumps (ESP), a form of artificial lift, utilize centrifugal force to lift hydrocarbons to the surface, enabling high flow and enhanced production. Today, there are more than 130,000 ESP’s installed globally. These ESP’s account for more than 60% of global oil production. GE’s ESP pumping systems sit below the surface and consist of a sensor, motor, seal section, gas management solution and centrifugal pump layered vertically within the well (from bottom to top.) Our ESP purpose systems are fully equipped to manage abrasive, corrosive, heavy crude, geothermal and a variety of other application-specific needs.
Features & Benefits
GE’s Electrical Submersible Pumping systems:
- Produce anywhere from 150-50,000 barrels of fluid a day (BPD)
- Operate in high-temperature environments (up to 290°F bottom hole) including SAGD and Geothermal
- Are designed for efficient production in abrasive and corrosive applications
- Vertically and horizontally produce fluids in the hydrocarbon, water, mining, municipal, industrial and subsea sectors
- Sit, on average, 6,000 feet below the surface
