AltairSupernova* Filter Elements

The AltairSupernova range of filter elements consists of pre-filter panels, cleanable pre-filter bags, high-efficiency bags, and high-efficiency minipleat filters. Although designed for the AltairSupernova filter housing, these elements are also ideally suited as replacements for non-GE systems, and are available in both industry-standard and custom sizes.

AltairSupernova elements provide inherently low pressure loss - even at up-rated flow velocities (up to 5 m/s or 1000 FPM) - and the high dust capacity and built-in moisture protection results in superior turbine protection.

Bag Pre-filter Options

The SN3B/SN4B pre-filter bag range has been designed specifically to protect land-based turbines. Available in a choice of efficiencies (G3/G4 - ISO EN779), these cleanable bags, which can be changed on-load, significantly increase the life of downstream high-efficiency filters.

High-efficiency Filter Bags

The AltairSupernova range of high-efficiency filter elements is effective not only in dealing with submicron particles such as smoke, but also most other airborne contaminants. The filters will provide very high levels of turbine protection, reducing compressor fouling, and improving engine health.

Minipleat Type Filter Installations
G3/G4 Pre-filter panels (G4L/G4W)
The G4L and G4W minipleat pre-filters are designed for coastal and land-based environments. Available in 2" and 4" versions, these G4-rated filters are designed to suit a range of operating conditions. They can be used to increase the life of high efficiency filters and to extend maintenance intervals. They are designed for low pressure loss with a high dust-holding capacity.
High-efficiency ‘V-cell’ filters (F7MX/F8MX/F9MX/H10MX)
GE’s expertise in gas turbine design has influenced the development of these filters rated from F7 to F9 per EN779:2002. The filters are designed for low pressure loss to enable optimum power output. Their high dust-holding capacity prolongs filter life and significantly lowers operating costs.
HEPA final filter (H10MX)
Operators today are increasingly requiring improved filtration against sub-micron particulate to minimize compressor wash intervals and ultimately downtime of gas turbines due to compressor overhaul. The H10MX is a high performance HEPA filter which helps extend the service intervals of gas turbine plants. Rated H10 according to EN1822, the H10MX filter is manufactured from a composite media pleat-pack fully potted in an ABS plastic frame and supported by a plastic mesh.

Coastal Heavy Duty Gas Turbine (HDGT) Filter Installations
F5 coalescing pre-filter bag (SN5)
The SN5 filter has been designed for use in industrial and other land-based environments. It can be used as either a pre-filter or an intermediate filter, and offers extremely low pressure loss to help optimize turbine power output. Its excellent dust-holding capacity supports longer intervals between filter change-outs and helps reduce filtration costs.
F9 Hydrophobic (17”) V-cell (F9MH)
The F9MH hydrophobic V-cell final filter is designed to give maximum protection to gas turbines against moisture as well as particulate contaminants. It has a filtration efficiency grade of F9 per EN779:2002. The extra-deep V-cell provides an extended filtration surface area, which ensures a low pressure loss and high dust-holding capacity, with optimized drainage performance.
