Subsea Distribution Unit
Receives electrical power and communications, fiber optic communications and hydraulic and chemical services from the UTA and distributes to multiple users such as trees, manifolds, pumping and boosting stations and infield tie ins.
Features & Benefits
Subsea Distribution Units (SDU) remove utility distribution from the UTA, reducing the UTA size and simplifying installation. As SDUs are more easily recovered than UTAs reconfiguration or upgrades may be easily accommodated without disturbing the umbilical. Flying Leads between the UTA and SDU can perform the same function as logic plates, allowing simple system reconfiguration. SDUs may be designed to land on the same foundation structure as the UTA or on an independent foundation. They are typically designed to be independently recovered from their foundations.
