VetcoGray ModPod

These highly versatile, field-proven, multiplexed, electro-hydraulic (mux E-H) subsea control modules (SCM) are ideal for tree-mounted and manifold-mounted applications.

One of the most technologically advanced control system components available, the VetcoGray ModPod provides ultra-reliable monitoring and control of subsea valves and instrumentation. Its compact, configurable design can satisfy even the most challenging and project-specific requirements.

Features & Benefits

Standardization. All ModPods have 770mm x 770mm footprints, are hyperbaric tested, and are ROV-retrievable using an interface tool.

Enhanced Reliability. These control modules support flexible instrumentation suites (4-20 mA, serial field bus, IWIS and SIIS interfaces), integral accumulation and hydraulic filtration, and include our VetcoGray SemStar5™ subsea electronics modules.

Increase HP Functions. An optional integral pressure intensifier for high-pressure functions is available.

Depth Rated. ModPods are suitable for all depths up to 3,000 meters.

Fast Delivery. GE's design and manufacturing process results in short delivery times for both the control module and its mounting base.

VetcoGray ModPod Custom. The Custom package is the most flexible and configurable SCM package, Up to 38 LP hydraulic control functions (5K psi), Up to 6 HP hydraulic control functions (10K or 15K psi), Depth rating of 3,000 m, Dual VetcoGray SemStar5 subsea electronics modules
On-site Capabilities

Virtually all subsea controls products including VetcoGray ModPods are designed, manufactured, and tested at our controls and informatics center of excellence, in Nailsea, U.K. This is the primary location for subsea controls project management, engineering, quality, procurement, manufacturing and testing functions .
Testing Capabilities

Hydraulic Integrity Proof Testing. Testing is performed on the fully assembled hydraulic system to confirm that there is no fluid leakage.

Insulation Resistance (IR) and Continuity Testing. The ModPod undergoes electrical and continuity safety tests as well as a CP continuity check.

Function Testing. The ModPod is tested to confirm that all the hardware functions correctly; external sensors are also connected or simulators are connected to test their interfaces.

Cover Integrity Testing. The ModPod is lowered into a water filled tank and positive air pressure is applied to check for leaks.

Full system extended factory acceptance testing (EFAT).

Hyperbaric Testing. All VetcoGray ModPods are hyperbaric tested to 3000 meters.
