GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy utilizes decades of experience servicing Boiling Water Reactors (BWRs) to provide the same repair and engineering services to our Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR) customers. With extensive experience in mitigating Stress Corrosion Cracking in BWR plants since the 1970s, GEH is now offering that expertise and more in the Alloy 600 portfolio of products and services to our PWR customers.

The Alloy 600 PWR Repair Services offers older plants a portfolio of services that extend plant and equipment lifetime. These time-tested services provided by the GEH expert field force have been proven in BWR plants. GEH teams are ready to be deployed to PWR plants.
ReNew Surface Improvement is a relatively simple, time-proven process that removes or reduces shallow crocks in aging equipment. The process is applied underwater or wetted in an air environment, and generates a compressive surface stress that provides greater resistance to stress corrosion cracking. In effect, ReNew resets the SCC crack-initiation clock by removing degraded layers -- and ensures a long-lasting, high degree of surface smoothness.
Weld Overlay - Structural or Preventive - has been performed by GEH field teams for over 30 years. The team has extensive experience with engineering, analysis, design, implementation, and ASME Code and regulatory issues to successfully put this tool to work in PWRs.
Corrosion-Resistant Cladding has successfully prevented corrosion in the BWR fleet for the past 20 years, and is now available to PWRs both in the field and in manufacturing environments. In the process, cladding is applied ot material susceptible to Primary Water Stress Corrosion Cracking, isolating the material from reactor coolant. This fully automated process mitigates the BMI J-weld, inside diameter of the reactor vessel, steam generator hot and cold leg nozzles, and any others that will allow access to the reactor's inside diameter.
NDE Services are available to meet the needs of PWR customers -- a complete Appendix VIII Qualification program. The fully remote phased-array capabilities for piping include ultrasonic imaging with fine line scanning, performed by the GEH expert ASME-code certified field team.
