Line Piggability
Many operators face the challenge of deciding on how best to make their pipelines piggable. Generally, the pipeline easiest to retrofit have been modified already. What remains are the older pipelines with a variety of challenging features (tight bends/multi-diameters/plug valves) and operating constraints such as low/no flow or inability to interrupt supply. Ironically, many of these type pipelines are located in high risk area.
Occasionally, operators' while executing their inspection programs will requires specialized skill sets for cleaning, assessment and repair.
Features & Benefits
Our services can help pipeline operators deal with the following situations:
-
When assessing line modification technical trade-offs, in order to develop cost effective, creative options; with our feasibility/ 'make-ready' study
-
To avoid retrofitting cost for ILI in urban areas where supply disruption is not an option, and when there is a need to eliminate permanent facilities for pipelines not frequently pigged; with our angle tap and temporary pig launch system (SmartLaunch)
-
For advice on field methods for verifying ILI performance and/or NDE of cracks- we offer dig verification field support, with specialised in -ditch NDE
-
When an operator has a requirement for permanent, structurally sound repair, no welding to pipes; when defects such as buckles and dents need specialised repair alternative- our repair method combines the benefits of steel and composites (Epoxy Sleeve Repair)
-
To determine the current state of debris and build up that could interfere with intelligent pigging in your pipeline; we will develop a customised cleaning programme
