Oil Boosting Station
Pipelines are used to transport oil from the production area to the export loading terminal or to a processing unit, such as a refinery. Boosting stations are installed at intervals along the pipeline to maintain the internal pressure required for a constant flow of oil.
How it works
In an oil boosting station, one or more high-capacity, single or multistage centrifugal pumps are installed. They can be driven by a gas turbine or diesel engine, or by an electric motor up to a unit power of about 30 MW.
